Eubank, 2 May 1840 - 10 Nov 1840 Willoughby J. H. Dees, 11 Nov 1840 - 7 March 1842 [office closed permanently on 8 March 1842] ================================================================================== COMMENTS: Wilson C. Eubanks purchased the property surrounding the present-day community of Crossroads in 1840 or 1841 from the government. His property lay in the West 1/2 of Section 13, Township 20 North, Range 2 East. His land included the site of the Crossroads Cemetery, located at the intersection of Louisiana Highway #2 east of Farmerville and #143 towards Rocky Branch. Undoubtedly the Enterprise post office was located on Eubanks' farm at this site. One of the earliest Union Parish roads led from Farmerville towards Port Union on the Ouachita River, and it passed through Eubanks' farm. In September 1840 the Union Parish Police Jury authorized Eubanks to put a gate across the road as long as he kept it unlocked for "passersby". Wilson Eubanks also served as an early Union Parish Justice of the Peace and elections commissioner. ###########################################################
