Malone, 24 June 1901 - 29 Sept 1910 [office discontinued on 30 Sept 1910, with mail forwarded to Farmerville] ================================================================================== COMMENTS: The Hobson Post Office was located in eastern Union Parish, apparently on one of the several roads leading from Farmerville to Port Union (then called the 'Upper', 'Middle', and 'Lower' Port Union Roads). This was prior to the construction of Louisiana Highway #2 that now leads from Farmerville to Sterlington. It was located near the modern intersection of the Ward's Chapel Road (Highway #828) and the Farmerville - Sterlington Road (Highway #2). In fact, Francis Malone owned 80 acres in Sections 4 and 9, Township 20 North, Range 2 East, and presumably he operated the Hobson Post Office near this location. ###########################################################
