Manning, 3 June 1872 - 1 June 1873 John B. Robinson 2 June 1873 - 1 Aug 1876 [Office closed on 2 August 1876.] William B. Smith, 30 Apr 1898 - 27 Feb 1900 [Office permanently closed on 28 Feb 1900, with mail forwarded to Conway.] ================================================================================== COMMENTS: #1 The original office was undoubtedly located near the Meridian Creek and Meridian Baptist Church a few miles east/northeast of the modern village of Conway. The second postmaster, John B. Robinson, owned land in Sections 3, 9, 10, and 15, Townhship 22 North, Range 1 East. Presumably there was a store and perhaps a small village of Meridian surrounding the church (which is in Section 15). The post office was undoubtedly located there. #2 I have no indication for the location of the second Meridian Post Office. Presumably it was situated in the same vicinty as the original office by this name, in the Meridian community east of Conway. ###########################################################
