Mosely gave his name to the Bluffs on Bayou D'Arbonne where he built his store. As a small community grew up around his store in the latter 1860s and early 1870s, Richard S. Ashcoft established a post office in 1875. Mosely served as postmaster between 22 July 1886 and his death on 9 July 1900. His daughter Lizzie Mosely took over after his death and served as the postmistress until 1913 when the office closed. ###########################################################
