White, 13 Nov 1883 - 19 Feb 1885 [Office discontinued 20 Feb 1885, with mail forwarded to Marion.] ================================================================================== COMMENTS: I do not know the precise location of this office, but the journals of the Postal Service indicated that it was a few miles west of Cecil, somewhere in Township 23 North Range 2 East. Postmaster Henry T. White was the son of James T. White, who was the founding postmaster of the Midway Post Office in Union Parish during the early 1860s. I am somewhat uncertain of the precise location of Midway, but presumably it was located near the home of the second postmaster, D. A. Cook, a short distance east of Truxno. The postal journals indicate Raleigh was some distance east of Midway. ###########################################################
