Hudson transcribed this information from the original records and donated it to the Union Parish Archives in August 2004. ================================================================================== RUGG POST OFFICE ESTABLISHED: 7 June 1907 HISTORY OF RUGG POST OFFICE: Office discontinued on 15 November 1913, with mail forwarded to Point. POSTMASTERS: Reuben W. Wall, 7 June 1907 - 14 Nov 1913 [Office discontinued on 15 Nov 1913, with mail forwarded to Point.] ================================================================================== COMMENTS: The Rugg Post Office was in southeastern Union Parish near Rugg's Bluffs on Bayou D'Arbonne east of the modern dam. The bluffs and the Rugg's Bluff Cemetery are in Section 19, Township 20 North, Range 2 East. However, post office maps indicate that the Rugg Post Office was about a mile south of this, somewhere along Union Parish Road #5587 in Sections 19, 30, 29, or 32, Township 20 North, Range 2 East. ###########################################################
