Rachel Feazel, the eldest child of Margaret Pear and George Feazel 
was born about 1792 in the state of Tennessee and died in 1860. She
was twice married. First to Alexander Thomas Dutton and second to
Lynds Sterling in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana.

Alexander Thomas Dutton was born about 1774 in Cheshire County,
England. He departed this life on the 26th. day of December 1818 in
Madison County, Alabama. He married Rache Feazel on the 30th. 
day of January, 1810 in Madison Co. AL. She did not move to La.
until after the death of her husband. She was listed as Widow Dutton
in the 1820 Ouachita Census.

Ouachita Parish, La. Probate Record.........Book E page 641 prove
that Alexander had two minor children at his death. George Washington
and Sarah Dutton.

Four children were born to Rachel and Alexander Dutton, namely:

1. Louisa Dutton, born about 1811. Died 03 August, 1867. Married
15 Sept. 1831 to William H. Pipes. He was the son of Jenny Grisham
and Joseph Pipes. (Referencee Ouachita Marriage Bk. A, page 42.

2. Christopher Columbus Dutton born about 1813. Married
Catherine Huey, born 1823, a daughter of Priscilla Franklin and
James Huey, Jr. (ReferenceOuachita Marriage Book A, pg. 223.)

3. George Washington Dutton born 22 March, 1814 in Madison Co.
Alabama. Died 03 Oct. 1864 in a civil war veterans hospital. He
maried Mary Ann "Polly" Moore who was born 7 June, 1828 in South
Carolina. She died 20 Nov. 1910 and is buried in the Zoar Meth. Cem.
in Jackson Parish, Louisiana.

4. Sarah Ann Dutrton born ca 1817 in Madison Co. Ala.

This information was furnished to the compiler by Mrs. Beulah Eleanor
Moreland Wedemeyer in 1969. She was a descendant of Louisa
Dutton and William Pipes.

On the 29th. day of May, 1821 Rachel Dutton married Lynd Sterling
who died before 1830. There were five known children born to this
union.

1. Elizabeth Sterling

2. John F. Sterling born 28 Jan. 1823 In Ouachita Parish, La.
Died 28 Jan. 1869 in Little River County, Arkansas. He married
Sophie Freeman who was born ca 1824, a daughter of Elizabeth
and Edward Freeman.

3. Lynds Sterling 

4. Amanda Sterling born 10 April, 1824. Married 28 August,
1867 in Little River Co., Arkansas. She married and divorced
Joseph Burke. Her second marriage was to James Nicholas
Dafft born 7 Dec. 1834 in Whitesville, TN. He died 4 Sept. 1916
and is buried in Weldon, Texas. After his death Amanda Sterling
married for the third time to Pleasant Etheridge born 1825 and 
died 1870. He was a dry goods merchant in Downsville, Louisiana.
He was the so of Effy and Allen Ethridge. Amanda remarried a
fourth time on 17 Feb. 1887 to Henry S. Simmons. They lived in
Texas. In 1897 she was living in Ellis County Texas and was
using the name Amanda Sterling Ethridge Simmons.
