In October 1861, the parish had no newspaper published in its boundaries, and again on 16 December 1861, no newspaper was published in the parish. The "Farmerville South" must have debuted in late October or very early November 1861 and then ceased publication by mid-December. ================================================================================== ================================================================================== SALT IN UNION PARISH. -- The Farmerville South says: We have been told that there is a salt spring in this parish where, some years ago, persons living in the vicinity manufactured salt for their use.
