PERSONAL AND GENERAL NOTES.

   Baton Rouge Advocate:  The friends of Auditor W. W. Heard, in this city, bear 
with much regret of his serious illness at his home, in Union parish.  We hope the 
tide will soon turn for the better, and that we may again be permitted to great him 
in the state capital, where he has endeared himself to so many of our people.
