Therefore we are pleased to learn that Mr. George Carroll, a young gentleman about twenty years of age, son of Mr. J. A. Carroll, of Spearsville, La., in a competitive examination in the Tulane Medical College of New Orleans last month for a position as a resident student at the charitable hospital in that city won first honors in a class of sixty young men. This honor is one of which Mr. Carroll and his friends will greatly appreciate when it is known that among those composing th eclass are some of the most brilliant young men of the State. Mr. Carroll is a young man of splendid traits and we feel satisfied he will continue through life to win distinction in his chosen profession. ###########################################################
