This is the first trip of the new craft and she cuts the water as smoothly and with as much ease and rapidity as any boat built in the North by experienced boat builders. This boat was built here at the junction of Bayou Cornie with the D'Arbonne, with materials cut from the forests of this parish, and under the supervision of its owner, Mr. Bearden. The mechanics employed in its construction were Union parish men, and the workmanship of the new craft reflects much credit upon the workmen and upon Mr. Bearden and his enterprise. ================================================================================== Note: The "Rosa B" served the merchants of Union Parish for many years, with the 1895-1900s newspapers reporting her arrival in Farmerville and Shiloh during the steamer season. ================================================================================== ###########################################################
