D. Everett has been very sick for the past few days with nervous prostration. We wish him a speedy recovery. --------------------- On account of the serious illness of her husband, Mrs. J. D. Everett Monday morning notified her pupils that school would be suspended for two weeks. --------------------- Mrs. Everett and Miss Ethel Robinson of Shiloh, mother and neice respectively of Mr. J. D. Everett, were called to Farmerville last week on account of Mr. Everett's illness. ================================================================================== ================================================================================== From the Farmerville "Gazette"; issue of Wednesday, 30 March 1898, page 3 ================================================================================== ================================================================================== Mr. W. R. Tugwell, of Conway neighborhood, was on our streets Monday. He says he is only planting a little cotton this year, but is putting most of his land in corn. Mr. Tugwell is a "hog and harmony" man, and for this reason it is safe to say that he is in good shape financially. ================================================================================== ================================================================================== From the Farmerville "Gazette"; issue of Wednesday, 6 April 1898, page 3 ================================================================================== ================================================================================== School work of the Farmerville Male and Female Institute was resumed Monday morning with a good attendance of pupils. --------------------- Mr. J. D. Everett, accompanied by Dr. C. H. Jameson, left Friday morning for St. Louis, whither he goes for medical treatment. ================================================================================== NOTE: James Dixie Everett was the district attorney for the judicial district that included Union Parish at this time.
