It is our unpleasant duty to chronicle the fact that another life has been sacrificed by the careless, reckless use of firearms. On Friday night of last week Thomas Johnson and Charles Oliver were traveling a road about twelve miles north of this place, when Johnson commenced firing a pistol, which resulted in one of his bullets accidentally striking his companion in the forehead, penetrating the brain and causing instant death. Coroner Jameson being notified summoned a jury of inquest which returned a verdict of accidental homicide. # # #
