About a month ago, Mr. Pearson had a surgical operation performed on his foot, in the hope that the disease that had seized him might be stayed; but blood poison set in, resulting in death. Mr. Pearson was born on November 2, 1834, in Lowndes County, Ala. He moved to Louisiana when two years old, was married February 5, 1860; to Miss Siddie Shute, and died December 28, 1898. He leaves a wife, son, and a number of other relatives to mourn his loss. Mr. Pearson was one of Union Parish's largest land owners; and through his planting operations he had accumulated a goodly portion of this world's goods. He was a strict member of the Farmerville Baptist Church, and belonged to the Knights of Pythias of our town, in which order he carried a life policy for $3000. Mr. Pearson's death will be seriously felt in his community. We extend our deepest sympathy to the bereaved family. # # #
