[Note: "our mother" was Sarah Ann Elizabeth Scarborough Ward (1838 - 1914), daughter of 
Noah Lewis Scarborough (c1808 - c1882) and Samantha Fowler (1819 - 1905). She was born 
near the village of Snow Hill in Wilcox Co. Alabama, but moved in 1847 to Union Parish. 
She married John Thomas Ward in 1854 and had many children.]
