Caroline Adams Meeks died on November 30, 1917. She was the widow of Mark Meeks Jr. who died in Rock Island Prison during the Civil War. RESTING IN THE ARMS OF JESUS The Death Angel visited the home of Mrs. Bettie Ward last Friday night and called away her own darling mother, Mrs. Caroline Meeks. Oh, it was so hard to give her up but the dear Lord knew where he had a vacant seat in heaven. She leaves to mourn her death one sister, one brother and four children, besides a large number of other relatives and a host of friends. She was loved by all who knew her. Her body was laid to rest beside her sons in the Cross Roads Cemetary. Dear Grandma was eighty seven years, two months and seventeen days of age at the time of her death. Weep not dear children, Mother is not dead, she is only sleeping in the arms of Jesus where no harm can reach her. And let us all try to so live that we meet her there where there can be no parting. A Loving Granddaughter # # #
