W. Everett, better known as “Uncle Billie,” died at his home near Spearsville last Saturday night, the 20th of April. Mr. Everett was an old and honored citizen of the Spearsville community in which he had spent his long and useful life. His passing is much regretted and he will be sorely missed by his neighbors and many friends. ================================================================================== Note: William Walter Everett (22 Feb 1856 – 20 Apr 1929) was the son of Rev. George Washington Everett (Sr.) and Nancy Jane Abbott. He was born eight months after his father's death, and his mother died in 1862. W. W. Everett was raised by his old half-brothers Thomas M. Everett and Rev. John P. Everett, who lived at Union Cross Roads (later Oakland) near the Springhill Baptist Church. In 1876 John P. Everett assumed the duties of minister of the Shiloh Baptist Church, and he moved his family from Union Cross Roads (Oakland) to Shiloh. Apparently William W. Everett followed his uncle to Shiloh, as he was living nearby in 1880. Everett married Sarah Elizabeth Youngblood on 25 August 1881, and they settled in the Pisgah community for a while, later towards Spearsville to what is now known as the Mt. Union community. ###########################################################
