He died Nov. 13, 1947. LAST RITES FOR JOHN A. PORTER HELD SATURDAY Funeral services for John A. Porter, aged 49 years , son of Mrs. Sarah Patrick Porter and the late James Tillman Porter were held at the First Baptist Church Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. R. B. Middleton, assisted by Rev. Roberts of Farmerville and Rev. Miller of Hodge, officiating. Interment, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, was in the Farmerville Cemetery. Mr. Porter died at the home of his Mother, Mrs. Sally Patrick Porter, Friday Morning, following a lingering illness. His home was in Bossier City where he has been engage in the Hardware business for a number of years. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife Mrs. Polly Sizemore Porter, one daughter Emma Frances Porter, two sisters, Mrs. M. V. Burns of Bernice and Mrs. Grady Phillips of Louann, Ark., and four brothers, Littleton T. Porter, William W. Porter, Robert T. Porter, and Martin A. Porter all of Bernice. Pallbearers were, J. J. Goss, Clyde C. Colvin, and Norman Lindsey of Bernice and G. M. Edwards, Stein Baughman and Wilber Taylor of Farmerville. John Arthur Porter born November 15, 1897 was my mothers brother, he was son of James Tillman Porter and Sarah Francis Patrick Porter. He was preceded in death by his father and a daughter Elenor Gene Porter. # # #
