The following obituary appeared in a newspaper that I do not know the name of
at Bernice, Union Parish, LA June 29, 1950.
 
Last Rites For C. E. Heard Held Thursday
 
Funeral services for Mr. C. E. Heard, 57, who died suddenly with a heart 
attack at his home at Pisgah, Wednesday June 21, were held at Pisgah Baptist 
Church Thursday at 4 p. m. with the Rev. John C. Adams, Pastor, officiating.  
Interment was in the Pisgah cemetery.  Mr. Heard was a life long resident of 
this community.
Survivors include his widow; three daughters, Miss Virginia Anne Heard and 
Mrs. M. C. Roberson of Bernice and Mrs. M. A. Elliott of Jackson, Miss., four 
sisters, one brother, two grandsons and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were:   L. C. Tucker, Earl Milner, S. C. Copeland, S. W. Tucker, 
Harvey Evans and Lonnie Gray.
