I have the name in my records as Carlis not Carlos. He was born in Union Parish. I don't know what paper it is out of, but the date of death my grandmother marked was 25 Jan 1962. His parents were William Henry ELLIOTT and Matilda Alice EDMONDS. CARLOS E. ELLIOTT Carlos Edward Elliott, who owned and operated Ed's State Line Cafe on Highway 78 near Olive Branch, Mississippi, died at Baptist Hospital at 5:15 a.m. yesterday after a brief illness. He was 72. Born in Bernice, La., on Jan 5, 1890, Mr. Elliott moved to Memphis in 1927. He operated a beauty and barber shop for 18 years. Thirteen years ago he opened his restaurant, which will continue to be operated by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Elliott. He was a Baptist. He also leaves three sons, Irby Elliott of Ruston, La., K. R. Mabry Elliott, stationed with the Army at Fort Knox, Ky.; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Regan and Mrs. Fanny Grafton; and four brothers, Otis Elliott, Omer Elliott, Elza Elliott and Alcander Elliott, all of Bernice, and five grandchildren.
