This is from the collection of the late Ora Ward Manning, the mother of Peggy Rockett. James Urban Rockett Funeral services for James Urban Rockett, 63, of Spearsville, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 1972 in Mount Union Baptist Church in Spearsville with the Rev William Rigdon and Forrest Post officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery under the direction of First National Funeral Home of Farmerville. Mr. Rockett died Saturday at Lincoln General Hospital after along illness. He was a lifelong resident of Union Parish and a carpenter. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Olivia Rockett of Spearsville; one son, James D. Rockett of Spearsville; two daughters, Miss Joann Rockett and Mrs. Phyllis Huffman both of Slidell; three brothers, Glover Rockett, Elzie Rockett, both of Spearsville and J.T. Rockett of Farmerville; five sisters, Mrs. Clete Gardner of Spearsville, Mrs. N.L. Hudson, Mrs. Wilson Sutton, Mrs. Margaret Baker, all of Shreveport, Mrs. Kathleen Caine of Austin, Tex., two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. # # #
