Robert T. Porter Rites Held in Bernice Final rites for Robert T. Porter ,82, of Bernice, LA. were held at 3 p.m. on July 26 at the Shiloh Baptist Church. He died in the Tri-Ward Hospital at Bernice at 7:30 a.m. on July 25 after a lenghty illness. He was a lifelong resident of the Shiloh commnity at Bernice, and a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Ellie Porter, one daughter, Mrs. Azilee Newman of Bernice; two sisters, Mrs. M.V. Burns of Bernice,and Mrs. Grady Phillips or Smackover, Arkansas ; two brothers, Martin Porter of Bernice and Wesley Porter of Farmerville, LA and a number of nieces and nephews. The Rev. Frank Burroughs and the Rev. Donald Lemmons conducted the services. Burial was in the Shiloh Church Cemetary under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased; Edward Y. Burns, of Bernice, Herbert Phillips of Camden, James F. Phillips and Martin Phillips of Smackover and Terry Burns of Bernice. ------------------------------------ Note: Robert Tillman Porter was my mother's brother. He was born January 30, 1891 in Shiloh, Union Parish, LA. His parents were James Tillman Porter and Sarah Francis Patrick Porter. # # #
