MRS. BETTY SMITH

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty C. Smith, 84, of Bernice were at 2 p.m. Monday
at Shiloh Baptist Church near here with the Rev. James Gray officiating.
Burial was at the church cemetery under direction of Farrar Funeral Home of
Bernice.

Mrs. Smith died Sunday at Pine Crest Manor Nursing home in Bernice after a
short illness.

A resident of Union parish for 50 years, she was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Tonway Smith of Bernice, Rufus Smith of Ruston and
Ronald Smith of Crosby, Miss.; one daughter, Mrs. Billy Grafton of Bernice; one
sister, Mrs. Herman Matthews of Serepta; nine grandchildren and four great-
grandchildren.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.
