Please note I do not know which newspaper this ran in. This is from the 
collection of the late Ora Ward Manning, the mother of Peggy Rockett. 
Mrs. Sallie Pickens died 2 January 1976.

Bernice - Funeral services for Mrs. Sallie Pickens, 101, of Baton Rouge and 
formerly of Camp Creek near Bernice will be at 2 p.m. today at Camp Creek 
Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in Camp Creek Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick's 
Funeral Home of Bernice.

She died Friday at Guest House Nursing Home in Baton Rouge following a short 
illness.

She was a native of Camp Creek and a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, W.L. Pickens of Dallas, Tex.; a daughter, Mrs. Eva 
Pickens Holloway of Baton Rouge; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren 
and six great great grandchildren.
