This is from the collection of the late Ora Ward Manning, the mother of Peggy Rockett. Carlos Rockett died 14 September 1976. Rev. Carlos Rockett Spearsville - Funeral services for the Rev. Carlos Rockett, 77, of Spearsville, will be at 3:30 p.m. today in camp Creek Baptist Church near here with the Revs. Jack Borden and B.L. Pruitt officiating. Burial will be in Camp Creek Cemetery under the direction of Spears Funeral Home of Ruston. The Rev. Mr. Rockett died Tuesday at his residence after a short illness. He was the pastor at Hopewell Baptist Church near Spearsville. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lois Rockett of Spearsville; one son, Dr. Arthur D. Rockett of Lake Charles; two daughters, Mrs. Anita R. Hollis of Homer, and Mrs. Evonne R. Simpson of Ruston; one brother, Hamric Rockett of Shreveport; eight sisters, Mrs. Bertha Johnson of Shreveport, Mrs. Myrtle Hill of Alden, Pa., Mrs. Roena Jeter of El Dorado, Ark., Mrs. Aletha Everett of Farmerville, Mrs. Demaris Burns of Bernice, Mrs. Odessa Post, Mrs. Otha Nutt, and Mrs. Hazel Bryant all of Spearsville; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The body will be carried to the church this morning. # # #
