Man Found Dead Here of Gunshot A Monroe man was found dead at his home Sunday morning from an apparent self- inflicted gunshot wound. Welborn Ward, 58, of 209 Sterlington Dr. was found in the bedroom of his residence about 8:20 a.m. by his neighbors. He had been shot once in the chest with a shotgun, according to the reports from the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office. A gun was recovered at the scene. Deputies said Ward was alone in the house at the time. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Eastside Baptist Church in Monroe with the Rev. O.J. Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Mr. Ward died of a gunshot wound Sunday at his residence in Monroe. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Rachel Ward of Monroe, five sons, Ronnie Ward of Jacksonville, Ark., Larry Ward and Gary Ward both of Monroe, LaDale Ward of New Orleans, and Cedric Ward of Texas; one stepson, Marvin Self of Houston, Tex.; two daughters, Miss Debra Ward, and Miss Sheila Ward both of Monroe; two brothers, Ted Ward of New Orleans, and Glynn Ward of Baton Rouge. # # #
