Mrs. Gladys Phillips Stewart was my father's sister. Mrs. Gladys P. Stewart Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys P. Stewart, 81 of Sterlington, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 5, 1985 at the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home with the Revs. Byrd Terry and John Oldhom officiating. Interment followed in Weldon Cemetery in Bernice. Mrs. Stewart died Tuesday, December 3, at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe after a lenghty illness. A native of Bernice, she was a member of the Bernice Methodist Church and was a housewife. Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her parents John E. Phillips and Alma H. Phillips, husband Prentice Stewart, and two brothers Otho and Grady Phillips. Survivors include one sister, Miss Annie Maude Phillips of Mer Rouge,and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were James Phillips, Herbert Phillips, Roy Phillips, Martin Philliips, Carl Teer, Raymond Abraham and Harold Stewart. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Gladys P.
