Mr. James Tinsley, Sr. Services for Mr. James Tinsley, Sr., 67, of Bernice, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 30, 1987, in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Bernice with the Rev. Lamar Skinner officiating. Burial followed in Old Town Cemetery in Haynesville. Mr. Tinsley died Wednesday, October 28, at Lincoln General Hospital in Ruston after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Haynesville, a retired teacher, coach and principal with 32 years of service in the Union Parish school system. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bernice, a veteran of World War II, member of the American Legion, the VFW, and the retired teachers association. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Virginia Tinsley of Bernice; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Gina Tinsley of Bernice, James and Mary Tinsley of Dodson; one brother Harold Tinsley of Arcadia, and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Olen Forbess, Troy Sharp, John Dru Taylor, Doug McKenzie, Conrad Tinsley, and Sutton Tinsley. Honorary pallbearers were W. G. Garrett and Leroy Tinsley. # # #
