This is from the collection of Peggy Rockett. Mrs. Post died in 1989. Mrs. Odessa R. Post Services for Mrs. Odessa Rockett Post, 83, of Spearsville, were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, at the Camp Creek Baptist Church in Spearsville with the Rev. Coy Upshaw and the Rev. Steven Post officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville. Mrs. Post died Monday, July 3, at Tri-Ward Hospital in Bernice after a lengthy illness. A lifelong resident of Union Parish, she was a member of Camp Creek Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Post was preceded in death by her parents W.L. and Minnie Ward Rockett. Survivors include her husband, John Willie Post of Spearsville; one son, Rev. Forrest Post of Spearsville; one daughter, Fern Tipton of Houston; one brother, Hamric Rockett of Spearsville; six sisters, Bertha Johnson of Shreveport, Myrtle Hill of Alden, Pa., Otha Nutt and Hazel Bryan both of Spearsville, Aletha Everett of Vienna, and Damaris Burns of Bernice; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Grandsons served as pallbearers. # # #
