This is from the collection of Peggy Rockett. Mr. M. Dean Martin Cullowhee, N.C. - Services for Mr. M. Dean Martin, 55 of Cullowhee, N.C. will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Franklin St. Baptist Church in Farmerville. Military Graveside services will be held at the Laran Cemetery with an Air Force Chaplain officiating under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville. Mr. Martin died July 11, 1990 in Cullowhee, N.C. after a brief illness. He was a native of Louisiana a former resident of Beaver Creek, Ohio, and a resident of Cullowhee for the last eight years. Dr. Martin was a Professor of Marketing at Western Carolina University and received his Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma. He retired form the Air Force as a Colonel in 1981 and was a former member of the Syla Rotary Club. Dr. Martin was active in numerous Wildlife and Conservation Organizations and Youth Sports. Survivors include his wife Annizel Holloway Martin Cullowhee, N.C.; his mother, Maxine Martin of Cullowhee N.C.; his step mother Ruth Willingham of Houston, Tx; two sons, Mark Dean Martin of Columbus, S.C., and Matthew Martin of Cullowhee, N.C.; two daughters, Dr. Debra A. Martin M.D. of Atlanta, Georgia, and Dr. Lori M. Chandler DVM of Lawrenceville, GA; one brother, Bob Martin of New Orleans; two sisters, Rita M. Lewis of McComb, MS, and Anne M. Sehon of Chattanooga, TN; and three grandchildren. # # #
