This is from the collection of Peggy Rockett Mrs. Mattie N. Foster Services for Mrs. Mattie Lou Nash Foster, 83 of Spearsville, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 9, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Revs. Jessie L. Foster and Wayne Thompson officiating. Burial followed in Laran Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville. Mrs. Foster died Sunday, September 8, at Chateau D'Arbonne Nurse Care Center after a lengthy illness. A lifelong resident of Union Parish, she was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Lee Foster, Sr. and a son, Bruce G. Foster. Survivors include two sons, Rev. Jessie L. Foster of Bernice and Adrian L. Foster of Spearsville; a brother, Clyde Nash of Spearsville; three sister, Maie Jones of Calamath, Oregon, Mardell Beck of Benton, Arkansas and Maudine Murray of Little Rock; eight grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. Palbearers were Ricky Foster, Rusty Foster, Eddie Foster, Hubert Bowman, Phillip Fluffy and Scotty Aulds. Honorary pallbearers were Randy Bowman and Gus Thorpe. # # #
