Mr. Rudolph Sam Barron Spearsville, LA - Services for Rudolph Sam Barron, 71, of Spearsville, will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, 1992, at First Baptist Church of Spearsville, with the Rev. James H. Miller and the Rev. Roy Pitchford officiating. Burial will follow in the Spearsville Cemetery, under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville. Mr. Barron died Wednesday, November 11, 1992 at North Monroe Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born August 19, 1921, in Spearsville, where he lived all his life. He was a veteran of World War II, a farmer, owned a grocery and hardware store, and was employed by Great Lakes Chemical Corporation, in Eldorado, for seven years, retiring in 1987. He was a former member of the Union Parish School Board and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spearsville, where he served as a deacon and choir member. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Etta Barron, two brothers, Hugh Barron and Chester Barron, and one sister, Rosalie Foster, all of Spearsville. Survivors include his wife: Jean Ganaway Barron of Spearsville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lance S. Barron and wife Barbara of Marietta, Georgia, and Gregory R. Barron and wife Sallie of Eldorado, Arkansas; one daughter Melanie Barron Stephens of Monroe; one granddaughter, Caitlin Elizabeth Barron of Eldorado; three brothers, Otto Barron of Dubberly, LA, Varna Barron of Farmerville, and Clyde Barron of Spearsville; one sister Mary Gray of Bernice. Pallbearers will be nephews, Ronald Foster, Paul Mitcham, Jerry Barron, Tommy Meeks, Lee Barron, and Scott Barron. Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Stone, Jim Rhodes, Danny McGoogan and deacons of the First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spearsville Fire Dept., the First Baptist Church Parking Lot Fund or the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home. # # #
