This is from the collection of Peggy Rockett. Robert H. Goodwin Services for Robert H. "Bob" Goodwin, 58, of Spearsville, were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 11, 1994 at the Chapel of Bailey Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Virgil Scott and V.W. Hayhurst officiating. Burial followed in Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. Mr. Goodwin died Tuesday February 8, 1994, in Shreveport following a lengthy illness. He was born July 10, 1935 in LaFarrie, Texas, the son of Herman Lester and Dixie McDermott Goodwin. He was a mechanic and member of the Antioch Church of Christ, a Korean War veteran, a member of Paralyzed Veterans of America and American Legion Post no. 10 Survivors include his wife, Melba Taylor Goodwin of Spearsville; two daughters, Charlotte Ann Basinger of Mountain Home and Robin Beadle of Texarkana, Texas; his mother, Dixie Goodwin of Fort Worth; a brother, Curtis Goodwin of Boyd, Texas; two sisters, Mary Briner of Fort Worth and Margaret Clark of Haughton; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers were James Kyle, Malcolm Taylor, Leon Taylor, Chuck Clark, Mike Clark, and Lynn Clark. # # #
