This is from the collection of Peggy Rockett. Elma B. Alford Services for Mrs. Elma B. Alford, age 89, of Farmerville, were held at 10 a.m. last Friday, June 14, 1996 at Bird's Chapel Methodist Church in Truxno with the Rev. John Zehr officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Union Cemetery near Spearsville under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Famerville. Mrs. Alford died last Thursday, June 13, 1996 at Union General Hospital in Farmerville after a lengthy illness. A native of Union Parish, she was along time member of Bird's Chapel Methodist Church and was also a member of the Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Alford was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Ray Alford; daughter, Margie Loyce Alford, and son, Billy Wayne Alford. Survivors include three sons, Richard Boyce Alford of Oakland, Connie Ray Alford and wife Patsy of Truxno, and Lee Royce Alford and wife Bonnie of Farmerville; five sisters, Clara Nale of Truxno, Evie Philips of Bastrop, Ethel Stone and Myrtis Christian both of Spearsville, and Byrtis Knowles of Farmerville; seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons and great grandsons of Mrs. Alford. # # #
