John C. Bennett Services for John Coy Bennett, age 75 of Spearsville, were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 1998, at Antioch Baptist Church of Christ in Spearsville with Danny Johnson and Virgil Scott officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville. Mr. Bennett died last Tuesday, June 9, 1998. A lifelong resident of Union Parish, he was a veteran of World War II, a member of Antioch Church of Christ and was a farmer. Survivors include his wife, Gladys Doyline "Sue" Bennett of Spearsville; one son and daughterin-law, John Van and Donnette W. Bennett of Spearsville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy Bennett Nichols and husband Ted Nichols, Jr. of Pearland, Texas, Lydia B. Bennett Farrar and husband Richard of Lillie and Camille B. Deason and husband Mark Deason of Spearsville; four brothers, James D. Bennett, Billy T. Bennett, Ralph J. Bennett and Frankie D. Bennett, all of Spearsville; two sisters, Ruthelle Davidson of El Dorado and his twin sister Floy Wade of Farmerville; grandchildren Candace Nichols and Caroline Nichols, both of Houston, Velvet Roberts and husband Johnny, Brittany Bennett, Avery Bennett, John Cody Bennett, Dana Bennett, Blair Bennett, John Wayne Deason and Andrea Deason, all of Spearsville, and Rebecca Farrar and Daniel Farrar, both of Lillie; and one great-grandchild Dusty Roberts of Spearsville. Pallbearers were Thomas Wade, Randy Post, David Bennett, Tommy Bennett, Jonathan Bennett, Doug Davidson, Kenneth Rockett and Scott Barron. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Futch, Joe Barron, Kent Bennett, Paul Bennett, Randy Bennett, Las Barron, Joe Barron, Tony Wilkerson, Wayne Wade, Donnie Wade, Gliden "Doe" Hearn, Dan Futch, W.W.
