Johnson and Rev. Diamond officiating. Interment was held in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Summerfield, Louisiana under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Homer, LA. Mr. Bennett was born April 10, 1919, the second child born of the late Frank and Annie Bennett. Edward accepted Christ at an early age, and was a member of Mt. Calm Baptist Church. In later years, he moved his membership to New Hopewell Baptist Church. Even as a disabled veteran, Edward worked hard for the Union Parish School Board for many years. Edward married Emmer Bennet tin October 1945. Of this union four children were born. He leaveS to mourn: his wife Emmer Bennett and son, John Bennett of Bernice, La; his daughter, Baro Wright of Altadena, Calif., his daughter Betty Brock and husband James Brock of El Dorado, AR and daughter Dewander Bennett who preceded him in death; in addition four grandchildren, Shonte Brock, Shontree Brock, Edward Bennett, and DeShawn Bennett; sister, Adall Briggs of Summerfield, LA; brother, Alfred Bennett of Homer,La; one uncle , Casper Thompson of Bernice, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers were John Bennett, Felton Thompson, George Laury, James Brock, Larry Briggs, John Jemison, James Streeter, and Tommy Briggs. # # #
