HOGUE * Bernice Banner 10/15/1999 Funeral services for Mr. Dallas E. Hogue, 81, of Jigger were held at 10 AM, Wednesday, October 13, 1999 at Apostolic Faith Cbapel with Rev. Virgil Harris and Rev. Billy Martin officiating. Interment with military rights was held at South Central Cemetery near Wisner under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home, Winnsboro after an extended illness. He was a resident of Franklin Parish, a retired machinist, member of Apostolic Faith Chapel Gilbert and VFW. He entered the U.S. Navy on February 11, 1938 and received discharge on March 29, 1946 in Oakland, California. From May 1942 until August 1945 he was a Prisoner of War enduring also the Bataan Death March. He was honored with American Defense Medal with One Bronze Star, Army Unit Citation with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, China Service Metal, Asiatic-Pacific Medal with One Bronze Star, Philippine Defense Medal with Three Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal with One Bronze Star, American Theater Medal and. World War II Victory Medal. Vessels and stations served on were USNTS, San Diego, California and U.S.S. Tanager Survivors include his wife: Mavis S. Hogue of Jigger; Children: Doris Hogue Ates of Bernice, Frances Scott of Fort Collins, CO and Eddie Hogue of Tulsa, OK; Half Sister: Jerry Lack of Bakersfield, CA; Half Brothers: Billy Garrett of Bakersfield, CA and Charles Garrett of Ball, LA; 8 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren. Pallbearers were Walter Fowler, Isaac Carrington, Nolan Stinson, Webster Stephens, Ronnie Sanders and Woodrow Cauley. # # #
