The Rev. Mike Smith officiated. Mrs. Brooks died as a result of a stroke. Mrs. Brooks was a native of Union Parish and was born December 15, 1920. Along with her late husband, T.L. Brooks, they most recently owned and operated a family business for more than twenty years. Family and friends will remember "Miss Edyth" as a kind and caring Southern lady. She was preceded in death by her husband and sisters, a twin, Edna Enloe Mahoney and Monette Enloe Butler. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Gary Brooks and wife Linda of Shreveport and Wayne Brooks of Bernice; five grandchildren. Kelly Brooks Stewart, Jay Brooks, Scott Brooks, Gina Martinez and Holley McBroom: six great-grandchildren. and several nieces and nephews. The kind and loving care for our mother by the staff of the Bernice Community Rehab Hospital is greatly appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pine Grove Baptist Church Building Fund is requested. # # #
