CALDWELL Funeral services for Paul E. Caldwell, 49, of Bernice, LA were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 8, 2000 at First Baptist Church of Bernice with Rev. Billy Minyard officiating and assisted by Rev. David Weeks. Interment was held in the Bernice City Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Bernice. Mr. Caldwell died Tuesday, December 5, 2000 Bossier City, LA following a brief illness. Paul was an employee of Gator Mapping. He graduated from Louisiana Tech in 1974 with a BS degree where he was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma business fraternity. After attending Centenary College for a short time, he began training in work with cable TV. He installed systems and mapped existing systems, working at some time in almost every state in the U.S. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Atlanta Braves and Chicago Bulls. He was a lifetime member of the Bernice United Methodist Church. The third child of John L. Jr. and Christine Weldon Caldwell, he was born in Bernice June 6, 1951. Paul was preceded in death by his Caldwell and Weldon grandparents, his father, and a brother, John M. Caldwell. Survivors include his Mother: Christine Caldwell of Bernice, LA; Sister: Kathryn Young and her husband Hoover of North Little Rock, AR; Brother: Thomas Caldwell of Broken Bow, OK; Aunt: Joann Sanders and husband Hiram of Bernice, LA; Uncle: Winfred E. Weldon and wife Patsy of Shreveport, LA; One nephew, four nieces, several cousins and other relatives and many friends. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of the Bernice United Methodist Church or to the American Heart Association. # # #
