Mrs. Dawkins was married to Judge James R. Dawkins who preceded her in death in 1974. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jean Dawkins Langford and Eugene P. Langford of Longview, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert G. Dawkins and Billie Roan Dawkins of Ruston; five grandchildren, James Langford of Ft.Worth, Texas; Robert Langford of Charlotte, North Carolina; Charlyn Dawkins O'Neill of Baton Rouge; Michele Dawkins Foreman of Manderville; and Leslie Dawkins Belding of Dallas, Texas; seven great-grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren. Her preceded parents were William Mitchell White and Katie Smith White, both longtime residents of Lincoln Parish. She lived most of her life in Farmerville, but resided in Ruston from 1968 to 1994, when she moved to Longview. She was a very active member of First Baptist Church in Farmerville and Temple Baptist Church in Ruston where she served in numerous capacities. During her journey through life as a Christian, she touched the lives of so many who will long remember her genuine love, concern, and acts of kindness. Memorials maybe made to the Temple Baptist Church Building Fund. A memorial Service was held in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston at 3:00 PM, on Wednesday, February 9, 2000. # # #
