HAZEL DEAN TUBBS Graveside services for Hazel Dean Tubbs, 87, of Ruston, LA were at 10:00 am Friday, November 3, 2000 at Henry Cemetery in Hico, LA with Rev. Perry Lassiter of the Southside Baptist Church of Ruston, and Rev. M. F. Copeland of Bernice, LA officiating. Interment was under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Mrs. Tubbs died Tuesday, October 31, 2000 at Longleaf Nurse Care Center in Ruston after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Tubbs was a native of Bernice, LA, was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Ruston. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, and friend to all. Mrs. Tubbs was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Henry Tubbs, and one son, Larry Devon Tubbs. Survivors include: children, Jimmy Lamar Tubbs and wife Jeanette of Ruston, La, Hugh Edward Tubbs and wife Janie of Bellville, TX, Dean Tubbs Cavazos and husband Joe of Bossier City, LA, Tawana Tubbs Bennett of Ruston, LA, and Barbara Tubbs Talbot and husband Vince of Ruston, LA; sister, Thelma "Puddin" Kelley and husband Major Charles H. Kelley of Bernice, LA; brother, George McGee of Lindell, TX; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grand- children. Pallbearers were grandsons: Stanley Tubbs, Scott Tubbs, Jimmy Tubbs, Jerry Tubbs, Gary Gray, Joby Gray, Rick Bennett, and Brad Bennett. Honorary Pallbearer was John Tubbs. # # #
