All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************ This obituary appeared in the Bernice Banner January 12, 2001 THERON LARKIN BRANTLEY Funeral services for Theron Larkin Brantley, 69, of Farmerville, were held Sunday, January 7, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at Farmerville Church of Christ, with Bros. Jurd Brantley and Larry White. Burial was held at Liberty Hill Cemetery near Farmerville. Arrangements under the direction of Farrar Funeral, Home of Farmerville. Mr. Brantley died at his home on January 4 following an extended illness. He was a member of Farmerville Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Faith Dean Brantley; one daughter, Christy Denice Brantley; two sons, Scott Larkin Brantley and Tracey Elgin Brantley and wife, Michelle, of Farmerville. He was preceded, in death by his parents, Willie and Lillie Mae Brantley, and one grandchild, Kristen Brantley. Theron found great pleasure in life, in cooking for his family, friends and coworkers. He thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship with these, along with his church family. He had a great sense of humor, often playing practical jokes on his friends. Having served in the Marine Corps for many years, he saw action in the Korean War where he received many citations, including the Purple Heart. At the time of his death, he was a Civil Deputy with the Union Parish Sheriff's Office where he had served intermittently for over a fourteen year period. Also, he was employed by Hercules Transport Company of Choudrant as a truck driver for several years. Pallbearers were Zane Hicks, Billy Anderson, Bob Buckley, Steve Brantley, Dent Taylor, Kendel Brantley, Kenneth Duty and Johnny Thomas. # # #
