INEZ HARPER HOLDER COLVIN Mrs. Inez Harper Holder Colvin, 90, of Ruston passed from this life on Sunday, June 17, 2001 following a lengthy illness. She was a resident of Longleaf Nurse Care Center. Funeral services were held at 2 PM Wednesday, June 20, 2001 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Dr. Michael Hawley officiating assisted by Rev. Floyd Pate. Interment was held at Henry Cemetery in Hico under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Mrs. Colvin was active in her churches in the Sunday School, WMU, and music programs. She loved to write songs, poetry, and short stories. Although she was stricken with total blindness at 80 years of age, Mrs. Colvin continued to compose poems and short stories as well as play the piano at the weekly worship services at Longleaf She was truly an inspiration to those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John 1. Holder and Graydon Colvin, and a daughter, Mary Holder McGuire. Mrs. Colvin is survived by one son, Virgil Holder and wife, Leneada of Newellton; three daughters, Vivian Holder of Kowloon, Hong Kong; Lucy Spillers and husband, Lamar, of Choudrant; and Helen Nelson and husband, Glen of Minden; one sonin-law, Oliver McGuire of Westlake; eight grandchildren, Mary Beth Tassin, Tammy Beagley, Carla Meyer, Kayla Grafton, David and Johnathan Spillers, and Sara and Anna Nelson and seven great-grandchildren, Abby Tassin, Brennan Meyer, Seven Beagley, Nathan and Emily Grafton, and Andy and Hannah Spillers and numerous nieces and nephews. # # #
