Funeral services for John Edward Colvin, Sr., 69, of Sharon Community, Dubach, LA, were held Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at Sharon Baptist Church, Dubach, LA with Dr. Robert McGee and Dr Bruce McGee officiating. Interment was held at Sharon Cemetery, Dubach, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Mr. Colvin died Sunday, June 3, 2001 in Shreveport, LA following a brief illness. Mr. Colvin was Deacon at Sharon Baptist Church for over 35 years and Sunday School Teacher. He retired from Texas Gas after 39 1/2 years and was an Armed Service Veteran. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Harold and Richard Colvin. Mr. Colvin was beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Survivors include: Wife of 49 years: Marjorie N. Colvin of Sharon Community; Daughter: Jan McCullin and husband, Sid of Dubach; Sons: John Edward Colvin, Jr. and wife, Carla of Ruston, Paul David Colvin and wife, Karen of Sharon Community; Grandchildren: Beth Colvin, Chase McCullin, Charlie Colvin, Gabe McCullin, Zachary Colvin and Joshua Colvin; One Great Grandson; Sisters: Helen Davis of Dubach, Jerry Smith of Saline, LA; Sister-in-law: Marie Colvin of Dubach and Mayme Colvin of Baker, LA; Brothers: Roy Colvin of Dubach and Bill Colvin of Powhatten, LA and Charles Colvin of Monroe, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Tommy Odom, Donnie Odom, W A. Scriber, Adrian Scriber, Jeremy Scriber, Dennis Puckett, Steve Wilson and Connie Farrar. Honorary Pallbearers were Brady Scriber, Bobby Scriber, James Ray Scriber, Don Scriber, W.H. Carter, Allen Herren, Jack Owen, Velua Lee and Jerry Owen. # # #
