MARY EVELYN HIGHTOWER ELLIOTT

Funeral services for Evelyn Hightower Elliott, 80, of Bernice, LA were held at 2:00 
PM Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at First Baptist Church in Bernice, LA with Rev., David 
Weeks officiating. Burial was held at Pisgah Cemetery under the direction of 
Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Bernice, LA. Mrs. Elliott was born March 21, 1920 and died 
February 4, 2001 at TriWard Hospital in Bernice, LA following a lengthy illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Elliott.
Survivors include her daughter, Vergie Shealy and husband John of Ruston, LA; grandson, 
Scott Lautigar and wife Delene and great-granddaughter, Rachel of Calhoun, LA; sister, 
Dods Lee Marsh of Bernice; brother, Rex Hightower of Athens, LA; and several nieces and 
nephews.
Pallbearers were Dendy Elliott, Jerry Lee, Kenneth Lee, Billy Ross O'Bannon, Pete Odom 
and Simon Pearson.
A very special thanks go to the staff at Triward Hospital and at Pinecrest for their 
loving and compassionate care.
