SANDERS Funeral services for Hiram B. Sanders, 76, of Bernice, LA were held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 18, 2001 at First Baptist Church of Bernice with Rev. David Weeks officiating. Interment was held in Bernice Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Hiram Sanders died Saturday, June 16, 2001 in West Monroe, LA following a lengthy illness. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bernice where he taught Sunday School for many years and was also a member of the Bernice Masonic Lodge. He was the only child of Walter E. and Nina Sangers, born August 10, 1924, in Oak Grove, LA and graduated from Kilbourne High School. He was a veteran of World War 11, having served in the U.S. Army Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Joann Sanders and three children: a daughter Susan Reeves and husband Ron of Farmers Branch, TX; a son Larry Sanders and wife Denise of Monroe, LA and a daughter Jerri Stokes and husband Tim of Farmerville, LA, seven grandchildren: Rachel and Rebecca Reeves, Stephen and Jennifer Sanders, Dana Gaines and husband, Eric, Keri Gaskin and Karol Stokes, a sister-in-law, Christine Caldwell of Bernice; and a brother-in-law, Winfred Weldon and wife, Patsy of Shreveport, LA. # # #
