Burns Saline, LA - Services for Van H. Burns, 87, will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, August 25, 2002 at Magnolia Baptist Church in Saline, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Weyland Gauntt, assisted by Rev. Doug Mitchell. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m., Saturday, August 24 at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Arcadia, LA. Mr. Burns, a former resident of Bernice, LA. died Friday, August 23, 2002 at his home in Saline, LA. He was a retired agriculture teacher in the Bienville Parish School System with 43 years of service. Mr. Burns was a longtime member of the Magnolia Baptist Church where he was a deacon and taught the Men's Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers. Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Margaret Burns of Saline; one daughter and son-in-law , Nena Cathy and Jerry D. Nash of Springhill, LA; one sister, Alice Durham of Junction City, LA; four grandchildren, Jamie Nash and wife, April, Paul Nash and wife, Stacy, Ragen Nash and Sam Nash, two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Adrian Nash all of Springhill, LA.
