MARIE SMITH FITZGERALD Services for Mrs. Marie Smith Fitzgerald were held at the First Baptist Church of Bernice on Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at 2:00 PM. Officiating was Rev. David Weeks. Burial service followed at the Shiloh Cemetery in Bernice under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of Ruston. Marie Smith Fitzgerald was born on October 30, 1920 in Bernice and went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2003 in Bernice. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Vaughn Fitzgerald, their son, Charles W. Fitzgerald; her parents, Henry and Essie Smith; her sister, Joyce Smith Albritton and her nephew, Ricky Smith Albritton. She is survived by: her daughter, Saundra Fitzgerald Sheperd and son-in-law Clint Sheperd of Oak Ridge, LA; her son, Larry Vaughn Fitzgerald and daughter-in-law, Andree Fitzgerald of Monroe, LA.; her grandchildren, Claire Elizabeth Sheperd of Decatur, Georgia; Charles Matthew Fitzgerald, Gerald of Monroe, LA., Scott Fitzgerald Sheperd of Oak Ridge, La. And Emily Rabun Fitzgerald of Monroe, LA. Her surviving sisters are: Mrs. James Carroll (Cell) Smith of Monroe, LA., and Mrs. Ross E. (Evelyn) Williams of Baton Rouge, LA. Pallbears for the service were: Doug Wheelington, David Lowery, Harry Cook, Ed Ober, Richard Jenkins and Dr. W. C. Reeves. Memorials may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., 1501 NW Ave., Bob Hope Road, Miami, Florida 33136-1494.
