W. R. LYNN: W. R. Lynn, 85, of Bernice, went to be with the Lord on January 16, 2003 following a brief illness. Services for Mr. Lynn were January 19, 2003 at the Bernice United Methodist Church in Bernice with the Rev. Johnie Adkins officiating. Services were under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of Bernice. Mr. Lynn was a charter member of Bernice United Methodist Church. He served as a U. S. Navy Corpsman during World War II and was at D-Day. He was a retired Rural Letter Carrier after 30 years of service. After retiring from the postoffice, Mr. Lynn became a poultry farmer for ConAgra. He was the senior partner of Lynn Creek Winery. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Ervina Castleman Lynn. He is survived by his sons, William W. Lynn and his wife Gloria of Bolivar, MO. Bob Lynn and wife Cheryl of Bethlehem, GA.; three grandchildren; one great granddaughter; sister, Irene Abernathy of San Marcos, TX.; and a host of nieces and nephews. Memorial may be made to the Bernice United Methodist Church Building Fund. A special thanks to his friends and neighbors and also to Dr. Billy Smith.
