WELDON Funeral services for James M. Weldon, 82, were held Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at Rose- Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating was Bro. Price Harris with interment following in the Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Weldon was born August 29, 1920 in Bernice and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 30, 2003 in Shreveport. He was an Electronics Salesman for many years and he owned and operated J & G Distributing Company. Jim, as he was known by his friends, loved fishing making people laugh and especially was a fan of LSU and the Dallas Cowboys. He never met a stranger and was always eager to help a friend in need. Jim was an Amateur Radio Enthusiast and was a former member of a local ham radio club. Mr. Weldon was preceded in death by his parents, John Floyd and Leona Roberson Weldon and his brother Willie F. Weldon. Jim is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gloria Johnson Weldon, daughters, Melinda Larkin and Donna Restivo, all of Shreveport and Amy Kamo and husband Rex of Broken Arrow, OK; 4 grandchildren; and nephews, Rodney Weldon and Jerry Weldon.
